Hrozba kácení tropických lesů Kostariky inspirovala metalisty ke spojení sil na ochranu ekosystému.
V roce 2022 bubeník Megadeth Dirk Verbeuren a hudebník-aktivista Sylvain Demercastel založili neziskovou organizaci SAVAGE LANDS (501(c)). Od té doby jejich úsilí zachránilo již 100 000 čtverečních stop lesů a veškeré příjmy z debutového alba «Army of the Trees» směřují na výsadbu stromů, vytváření rezervací a «zelených zón». Ve spolupráci s Institutem Jane Goodallové a lídry metalové scény projekt dokazuje: těžká hudba může měnit svět.
Album «Army of the Trees» spojuje metalové hvězdy v ekosystému nekompromisního zvuku. Ve skladbě «The Last Howl» se vokál Johna Tardyho (Obituary) proplétá s virtuózními sóly Andrease Kissera (Sepultura). Kai Uwe Faust (Heilung) naplňuje «Black Rock Heart» mystickým duchem black-n-rollu, zatímco Maria Franz (Heilung) se svým éterickým vokálem vznáší nad melancholickou baladou «No Remedy». Eurovizní favorité Lord of the Lost přidávají krvavý glam v «Out of Breath» a Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy) kraluje v «Ruling Queen», přecházejíc od čistého vokálu k lvímu řevu. Titulní skladba, nahraná za účasti Juliena Truchana (Benighted) a francouzských metalových titánů, zní jako bojový pokřik: «Je čas zaujmout své místo!»
